With winter fast approaching, it is important to take care of your trees so they can be looking great during the cold, and for next year! Compiled is a list of the top 5 things that can be done to keep yours looking great!
- Cut out any broken branches out still in the tree.
This is one of the most important things that you can do to prevent further damage to your tree! Those branches are a hazard to other branches and don’t look all that great
- Remove old stumps surrounding trees,
These old stumps might not look like much, but underground, are sucking up the nutrients that your thriving trees can be using to look great!
- Pick up already fallen branches.
During the fall, leaves come with fallen twigs and branches as well. Picking these up can make your yard look better and reduce branch clutter if you have an older tree.
- Inspect the bark!
By simply looking at the bark on your trees, you can identify any large issues happening with the trees such as a split trunk or insect infestations. If you check your trees annually, it can prevent other trees from other “tree sickness”!
- Identify roots coming out of the ground.
Some species of trees are more prone to this than others, but if there are exposed roots, ensure that they are not either infested with bugs, or in a hazardous location for you and your family!
With these 5 tips, the family here at High Point Tree Services wishes you the best with the upcoming winter months! And if you have any questions about any of our services, feel free to give us a call at 1(336)739-5920
